Bad News:
As mentioned in my previous journal entry, my Windows 7 went into a system repair loop after what was supposed to be a routine system restore. I've had my laptop looked at, and the guys at the service center could do nothing except reinstall the OS. This, of course, means that I'm going to have to reinstall several programs and drivers, which is going to take a while.
Good News:
It turns out that I had the foresight to save most of my files in the partitioned drive D instead of drive C, meaning that I only really lost a few files I could afford to lose. My most important files are still there. At the very least, I am immensely relieved.
Also, since my laptop was just barely within its one-year warranty (it expires at the end of this week), having the OS reinstalled (I bought it with the OS preloaded, so I don't have an installation disk with me) cost me nothing.
